Your call, step by step
Call (833) 728-2327
Say what is wet, where the water came from and whether it is still running. The call is answered any hour.
Stop the source
If water is still coming in, you are walked through the shutoff valve or the breaker first.
Inspection and written estimate
The crew checks the water category, measures moisture in walls and floors, photographs the damage and writes the estimate before work starts.
Ranges, not quotes, from published cost guides; what water mitigation includes.
Your written estimate is the only price that applies.

Typical US ranges compiled on 17 October 2026 from public cost guides and price lists, not prices from 911 Water Damage Fix or any one company. Most guide figures trace back to Angi and HomeAdvisor customer surveys (HomeAdvisor water damage cost guide, updated June 17, 2026); independent checks: HomeGuide (2025 and 2026), Fixr (January 2025), a State of Iowa restoration contract price list effective May 22, 2026, and a published restoration equipment rental list. The written estimate after an inspection is the only price that applies.
Why two jobs cost different amounts
- How many air movers and dehumidifiers the job needs, billed per unit per day.
- Drying days, set by the materials and how much water soaked in.
- Water category and any contamination controls.
- Flood cuts and tear-out needed to reach wet cavities.
- Labor for daily readings and moving equipment.
- Air scrubbers where tear-out raises dust or odor.
Reading the estimate
- Each piece of equipment with its daily rate
- The expected drying days and how they are confirmed
- Where flood cuts or holes will be made
- How you will get the daily moisture readings
When insurance pays for water mitigation
A standard homeowners policy usually lists sudden, accidental discharge of water from plumbing, heating, air conditioning or appliances as a covered peril, according to the Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I). Damage from a slow leak or poor upkeep is usually excluded, and so is mold.
Whoever pays, the insurer will want proof: photos before anything is moved, moisture readings, a list of damaged items and the written estimate. Restoration companies document all of this as part of the job, and you deal with your own insurer about the claim.
